76 West Chester Street

William and Allison Mankivsky of Wellesley, MA purchased a dwelling at 76 West Chester Street from Lawrence and Tina Jones of Westport, CT for $2,700,000.

The Bank of New England of Salem, NH purchased a dwelling at 9 Old Westmore Farm Road from itself in a foreclosure proceeding for $2,500,000.

Mark Bono of Wellesley, MA purchased a dwelling at 35 King Street from Jennifer Modisette, Benjamin Torrey and Elizabeth Torrey of Scituate, MA for $1,400,000.

Lender Buys Point Breeze Hotel for $22 Million

Yesterday the foreclosure auction was held for 77 Easton Street, known as the Point Breeze Hotel.  The previous owner had allegedly defaulted on a construction loan in excess of $40 million when TD Banknorth called the loan.  The bidding opened at $5 million and did not exceed $6 million with only one bidder among the crowd of about 100 onlookers.  TD Banknorth let the auctioneer know that it would purchase the property for $22 million and, with no other bids, the auctioneer declared the Point Breeze sold to the lender.

Quentin the Quahog Results

Quentin the Quahog predicts six more weeks of winter.  At high noon today at the Town Pier Harbormaster Dave Fronzuto opened the wily quahog only to have him squirt to the left which means six more weeks of winter on Nantucket.  We understand that the groundhog results were similar this morning in Punxsatawney, PA.  Based on the weather today, none of this was a big surprise!
